چکیده
We theoretically present a design of self-starting operation microcombs based on laser-cavity solitons in system composed micro-resonator nested and coupled to an amplifying laser cavity. demonstrate that it is possible engineer the modulational-instability gain system’s zero state allow start-up with well-defined number robust solitons. The approach can be implemented by using parameters, such as cavity length mismatch shape, control repetition rate generated Because setting does not require saturation gain, results offer alternative standard techniques provide mode-locking.

Polarization-locked temporal vector solitons in a fiber laser: theory
Stable polarization-locked temporal vector solitons are found in a saturable absorber mode-locked fiber laser with weak cavity birefringence. The system is theoretically modeled with two coupled complex Ginzburg– Landau equations that include fiber birefringence, spectral filtering, saturable gain, and slow saturable absorption. The solutions to this system are similar to those for elliptically...
متن کاملPolarization-locked temporal vector solitons in a fiber laser: experiment
We experimentally observe polarization-locked vector solitons in a passively mode-locked fiber laser. The vector soliton pulse is composed of components along both principal polarization axes of the linearly birefringent laser cavity. For certain values of birefringence and pulse energy these components propagate with a constant relative optical phase of 6p/2, and hence the pulse has a fixed el...
متن کاملSelf-starting 6.5-fs pulses from a Ti:sapphire laser.
We demonstrate self-starting 6.5-fs pulses from a Kerr-lens mode-locked Ti:sapphire laser with 200-mW average output power at a pulse repetition rate of ~86 M Hz. This is to our knowledge the shortest pulse ever generated directly from a laser. For dispersion compensation we used a prism pair in combination with double-chirped mirrors, which balances the higher-order dispersion of the prism pai...
متن کاملSelf-starting Kerr-lens mode locking of a Ti:sapphire laser.
It is shown that Kerr-lens mode locking of a Ti:sapphire laser, with no intracavity elements except the laser rod and the dispersion-compensating prisms, can be made to be completely self-starting. We achieve this result by carefully designing the resonator to maximize the nonlinear mode variations and dynamic loss modulation.
متن کاملSaturable Bragg reflector self-starting passive mode locking of a Cr(4+):YAG laser pumped with a diode-pumped Nd:YVO(4) laser.
We demonstrate self-starting passive mode locking of a Cr (4+):YAG laser, using an intracavity nonlinear mirror as a saturable absorber. The pump source is a diode-pumped Nd:YVO(4) laser. Output pulses are centered at 1541 nm, with 26-nm spectral bandwidth and 110-fs pulse width. Output powers of 70 mW are obtained with 8 W of pump power. This mode locking technique is compared with Kerr-lens m...
